Unico Zelo Halycon Days Nero D’Avola 2019 Review

Yes. Yes. A wine for wine thinkers. Why for Unico Zelo Halycon Days Nero D’Avola and not for others. Because with this wine there is cognitive dissonance. Take a slip and the clockwork cogs stop meshing; they grind to a halt, you judder, then you think, then it works. Because? Well, because it is illogical but good. A pup of a wine drunk so young should be a fruit dominated, nothing funky, nothing dark. Okay, it designed for going maybe a certain disjointed acidity and tannic nature conceived to mellow later in life. But not this. One year old and tasting of leather and oh-so-tarte. it tasted like Italy, not because it is made of a grape variety associated with Italy, but just because. Just because.
