Stone and Crow Shaw River Special Reserve: Review

Stone and Crow equals Jack Holman. I’ve never met him, and as an act I love I never want to. I never want to fall out of love with the idea that life can be brilliantly unpredictable, I never want to fall out of love with the idea that one person can just do want they want and stick two fingers up to the predictable corporate process. Because? Because, life is replete when full of colour. That I’ve no predictable idea of what I’ll be tasting when I get Stone and Crow cheese is a delight in its own right. Yet, somehow it always delivers. And Stone and Crow Shaw River Special Reserve does.

It is a hard buffalo milk cheese from Shaw River, Victoria with a natural rind even consistency and an ivory colour paste. A fairly intense smell that is low on ammonia. Flavours of natural sweetness and umani with fruity/floral elements. I found this very moreish. After the ‘formal’ tasting I kept going back and nibbling more/ So, I guess that is a compliment. I suggest you find it and enjoy it yourself.
