Stone and Crow Curfew: Review

Vert enjoyable and very moreish hard goat’s milk cheese fom Victoria’s Yarra Valley. According to the marketing Stone and Crow Curfew comes as a result of cheesemaking during COVID lockdown, so I guess there will be only limited amounts of it. The is good intensity on the nose of fermented aromas and a bit of ammonia. In the mouth those fermented notes are there too along with savoury, nuttiness and slight caramel and good salt levels. This cheese avoid being “too goaty”. I loved it.

Made with non-animal rennet.

I’d be tempted to try a sherry with this to match the savoury notes. Or see my cheese and wine pairing guide for more options.

Where to Buy

Artisan cheese specialist shops will stock this. I bought mine from Harper and Blohm, and have seen it stocked in Ripe. Both do online sales.
