Soumah Estate Viognier: Review
First base is how to say the name of the grape, right? It’s pronounced vee-on-ee-er.
This is a very high quality viognier. Soumah Estate have nailed this wine. Classic apricot flavours coming through with laser like precision and intensity. The overall balance of the wine is superb too. It is very even across the mouth. Those nice flavours linger in the mouth after swallowing.

Too refined for general party wine. People that like to talk about their wine will enjoy this stand alone, especially ones that like chardonnay or dry Australian rieslings. However, this with pair well with lighter foods and lighter style cheeses.

Viognier is most closely associated with the Rhone region of France. It can be found as a single variety wine, labelled Condrieu after the name of its sub-region of Rhone. more broadly in Rhone, as in Australia, it is more often blended in with shiraz/syrah to give it more oomph.
