Songbird Cabernet Sauvignon Alcohol Free: Review

Before we start: If you are new to drinking non-alcoholic wine try my 2 minute Guide to Non-Alcoholic Wine. This is very, very good alcohol free red wine, so good I rank it alongside the market leading Lautus Savvy Red andNewblood Shiraz (see my Top Non-Alcoholic Drinks Picks). Songbird Cabernet Sauvignon is medium bodied and has good balance and a nice set of flavours centred on blackcurrant. It lacks the cigar-box flavours of a classic cabernet, and the added grape juice means that the wine is a teeny-weeny bit off-dry. But this should not put you off, this is very drinkable stuff. As a result it is a very quaffable wine that compares to well made cheaper alcoholic cabernets. At AUD 16 this is very good value.

Energy: 90 kJ per 100ml (22 Cal). Alcohol < 0.5% ABV

Lautus Savvy Red: The best dry red non-alcoholic wine there is in my opinion. South African.

Newblood Shiraz: Very good dry red non-alcoholic wine. Australian.

Plus and Minus Shiraz (de-alcoholised): More zero alcohol Australian shiraz. This has a much lighter and fruiter style.

McGuigan Zero Shiraz (de-alcoholised). Most widely available, in retail stores such as Dan Murphy’s. Again, has a lighter and fruiter style.
