Greenstone Mmm! Handpicked Mataro 2018: Review
Enjoyable medium bodied red carrying some interesting dark flavours. Greenstone Mmm! Handpicked Mataro 2018 has been made in a limited quantity from grapes in the Heathcote region of Victoria. What I especially liked about this wine is that are already some dark tertiary flavours to be found: tar and cigar. As a result there is some complexity created by adding flavours on top of the dark black fruit present. It tastes quite big, though I ended up enjoying drinking this by itself more than with food. At 13.9% ABV the alcohol has been kept under control.

It’s a full red. Drink with stews and roasts. In terms of cheese go for a semi-hard cheese or even a cheddar. See my cheese and wine pairing guide for more options.
