Four Horsemen Barbera: Review
The most famous wines made from barbera, come from Piedmont in north-western Italy with written records of it being grown there going back to the thirteen century CE. Because of the relatively high acidity of this red grape, barbera wines are typically food wines as opposed to quaffers. Four Horseman barbera give the grape a South Australian treatment with the fruit coming to the fore. Because of the South Australian climate and style this barbera is a lot fuller with lush black fruits than its cousins from Italy and so it went well with our cheese platter. It is low on tannin and so probalby no a wine for aging. Organic.
