Fall from Grace: Montepulciano 2016: Review
Fall from Grace: Montepulciano 2016 from Langhorne Creek, South Australia is lovely medium bodies dry red wine best suited to having with food. The grape variety, montepulciano is usually associated with central Italy, though there are examples as far south as Puglia. However, today we are going Australia, and in this case to South Australia’s Langhorne Creek.
There’s a lot to like about this wine. There’s a deep stewed morello or black cheery heart to it and an undercurrent of darker black berries. That fruit flavour is so very pure and I find there’s a divinity to be savoured in it. There’s acidity too, sufficiently so that this is clearly a food wine. Enjoy.

This is a food wine. Enjoy with Italian food, especially pizza. The acidity in the wine will handle the cheese topping and the purity of fruit compliment the tomatoes and other toppings. What about cheese alone. Try Pecora Yarrawa. Perfect.
